CWG Choices Ltd offers the ‘Eifel T’ mobility threshold

CWG is offering the BKV ‘Eifel T’ mobility threshold for both single and double doors. The ‘Eifel T’ system has been tested and approved by the Local Authority Building Control (LABC) and has been approved to meet Part M of Building Regulations.

In general, the improvements are through its thermally broken design and improved weatherproofing. The improvements in performance are particularly significant with double doors, because of its flush fitting shootbolt keep. It has an ‘easy clean’ shape and can be used for inward and outward opening doors. If required, an internal ramp is available.

The ‘Eifel T’ low threshold is available with any of the systems used by CWG Choices namely Rehau, Shield and Kommerling Connoisseur.

A First for CWG Choices with the New REHAU-Heritage Vertical Slider

A customer of CWG Choices Ltd has completed what is believed to be the first installation of vertical sliders produced using the new REHAU Heritage suite. Fabricated by CWG Choices, the frames were installed throughout a large domestic property in Higham Ferrers, Northamptonshire, which was undergoing a complete refurbishment.

Originally, the traditionally styled house had timber vertical sliders all of which have been removed and replaced with the new REHAU-Heritage windows. The overall look of the property has been retained but with the addition of significant benefits in terms of low maintenance and energy efficiency.

The owners of the property chose the new REHAU-Heritage system because they liked the authentic detailing such as the sash horns, deep bottom rail, slim interlock and traditional chamfer on the sashes. In this type of traditional property, it is almost indistinguishable from a timber alternative yet it offers all the inherent advantages of modern materials such as PVC-U.

Also installed in the house were three pairs of French doors fabricated by CWG Choices using 60mm REHAU-Tritec profiles with Astragal bar detailing which mirrored the slim putty-line Georgian bars on the vertical sliders.

CWG Choices director Philip de Clermont commented, The fabrication team who specialise in vertical sliders are highly experienced. They are delighted with the new Heritage suite and agree with the comments of David Harmer, the Product Manager at REHAU. He is responsible for the REHAU-Heritage system and told us this installation is a real showcase for the new vertical sliders and the capabilities of the CWG Choices team.

What a Pedigree

New it might be but CWG Choices Ltd, the new trade only supplier of frames to installers has started with a pedigree that is beyond dispute. With a lineage that goes back to 1992, directors Jason Wilder and Philip de Clermont are both highly experienced and known for their fabrication capabilities and business ethics.

As Jason explained, all of our previous twelve years of successful and profitable trading, one of our major objectives was to never let our customers or suppliers down. To a very large extent this objective was achieved, as shown in the company's results in 2003 and 2004 and the subsequent sale of the company.

Unfortunately, under the new ownership the company did not survive.  So Jason and Philip bought the assets of what had previously been their company and started again.  Operating on two sites and most importantly having already saved some eighty jobs, the company knows what the 'trade' has always wanted.  In effect, fair priced quality products delivered on the agreed date and backed up by excellent service. As Philip commented, Our customers and suppliers know us for what we are and are being very supportive. It's a remarkable reflection on the past that customers have offered to help us re-establish the operation and suppliers are very enthusiastic that we were to develop upon our previous success. It's good to be back and to have responsibility for a company and for our own actions.

A core team of familiar and highly experienced production and sales managers have been chosen to join the company. All are well known for their capabilities and commitment, and are dedicated to providing responsive, friendly and professional pre and after sales service to customers of all sizes.

Philip and Jason have consistently used REHAU as a key supplier of profiles for the fabrication of top performing windows, doors and conservatory frames. Colin Haworth, REHAU's general manager for the Midlands area said, We are delighted to continue what was a long and mutually beneficial relationship with Jason and Philip. We wish them well and know from experience they will leave no stone unturned to recreate their previous success and look forward to working with them in the future.

The CWG Choices Ltd operation is based at the Corby site where REHAU Tritec and the popular 70mm S706 profiles are being fabricated. Corby will also be responsible for production of the magnificent Multifold door plus the refined REHAU Heritage suite with its slim interlock and low line glazing for traditional looking sliding sash windows. Aldridge will concentrate on Kommerling Connoisseur and Shield 70mm profiles plus Global roofs.
